CPR Training CPR is the artificial method of circulating blood and oxygen through a body and attempting to keep the brain alive. The survival rate for patients on whom CPR was performed within four to eight minutes is ten percent. More than 650,000 people die annually from heart attacks in the United States and more than 350,000 die before reaching the hospital. Every year in the United States there are 500,000 strokes, 6,000 drowning incidents and 3,100 incidents of airway obstructions. Emergencies happen to everyone, usually when we least expect them. To cope at such times, each individual needs to be equipped with the information and skills needed to deal with an emergency. One in seven people will therefore have the opportunity to use CPR in their lifetime. That is why undergoing CPR training is necessary.
